Eagle Township adopts interim zoning amendment for nonconforming lots; planning commission backs complaint-driven handling of shipping containers

Planning Commission Chair Rob Currie told the board the commission completed officer elections and is reviewing ordinance language related to ponds and mineral extraction. Currie said the PC recommends processing shipping container complaints under a complaint-driven system rather than requiring a new permitting pathway.
Trustee Michelle Hoppes moved to adopt the ordinance amendment and Clerk Laurie Briggs-Dudley supported the motion; roll call recorded unanimous yes votes and the resolution was adopted. The board also accepted the Planning Commission’s 2024 annual report.
Clerk Briggs-Dudley and Commissioner Currie said they will review the Planning Commission budget and meet with the zoning administrator to evaluate services provided by McKenna, the township’s zoning services provider. The board deferred a separate Planning Commission member recommendation to the March meeting.
