Stockbridge council approves contracts, purchases and zoning text changes, sets $50,000 emergency cap

The Village of Stockbridge council on Aug. 5 approved a package of operational and administrative items ranging from vendor contracts to zoning text amendments.
Financial business included approval to pay bills totaling $162,686.44 and authorization of a two-year Hydrocorp contract to administer the cross-connection program at $249.50 per month. The council approved outfitting a police patrol vehicle for $6,995.29 and authorized purchase and installation of a flow meter from Northern Pump at a cost of $6,118.00.
On personnel and compensation, the council approved raising sergeant pay to $28.50 (motion by Ogden, supported by Mullins; roll call recorded Howlett as the lone nay). On procurement policy, the council amended the purchase policy to place a $50,000 cap on emergency purchases and require a special meeting to authorize any emergency expenditure above that cap.
The council also adopted text amendments creating a new 'Cottage Industries' section in the Municode (section 6-162) and approved related home-occupation amendments to Chapters 6 and 6-145; both zoning text changes passed with one recorded nay (Fairbotham).
