Rumson-Fair Haven board approves staffing changes, coach and advisor stipends

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Board of Education voted Sept. 27 to approve a batch of personnel actions for the 2022–2023 school year, including new staffing, revised coach and advisor stipends and a sidebar pay agreement for paraprofessionals.
The Board approved hiring Brandon Wall (Georgian Court University) as a school counselor intern under the supervision of Heather Mills. It also approved updated job descriptions for Play Production Coordinator, Substitute Coordinator and Additional Assignments, and authorized specified staff to provide additional morning and after-school coverage at a rate of $30 per hour (names listed in the minutes).
The Board authorized a sixth English assignment (Oct. 3, 2022–May 30, 2023) with a stipend of 20% of the Level 1 teachers’ guide pay for five teachers (Rosanne Hughes, Alexis Marinov, Jessica Mentzel, Jessica Olszewski and Susan Schuld), each listed with a prorated stipend amount of $12,470. The Board approved rescinding several advisor appointments previously on the roster and accepted updated stipend schedules for fall coaches and advisors as set out in Attachment A (coaching salaries) and Attachment B (advisor stipends).
By addendum, the Board approved a sidebar agreement with the School Employees Association concerning paraprofessionals’ extended-school-year (ESY) and extra-curricular hourly rates. The minutes record the addendum motion as carried by roll-call vote.
Procedural notes: the personnel block of agenda items (items 1–8) was approved on a motion by Mr. Kenney, seconded by Mrs. Whitehouse, by roll-call vote of those present. The addendum sidebar agreement (item 25) was approved on a motion by Mrs. Whitehouse, seconded by Mrs. Hickey. No dissenting votes are recorded in the minutes.
The approved coach and advisor schedules and dollar figures are included in Attachments A and B to the minutes; those tables list per-position stipends and groupings for all fall coaches and advisor roles.
