Plymouth Public Library Board unanimously recommends Renovation Master Plan to Common Council

At its June 1 meeting the Plymouth Public Library Board of Trustees voted unanimously to recommend the Renovation Master Plan to the Common Council after a presentation by D. Wiitanen of Somerville Architects.

The plan, presented after Director Leslie Jochman introduced the architect, included an updated floor plan and before-and-after renderings that illustrate proposed design changes. The board discussed logistical issues tied to the project, including potential added costs for moving and storing library materials, identifying a temporary location while work proceeds, and replacement or acquisition of furniture. No specific cost estimates or temporary site were provided at the meeting.

President M. Hummitzsch called for the motion to forward the plan to the Common Council; M. Kaczkowski moved and K. Kraemer seconded. The motion passed unanimously with all eight trustees recorded as voting yes.

Gloede; second S. Britt). S. Gloede moved and A. Matzdorf seconded the motion to adjourn, which passed; the meeting ended at 7:40 p.m.

Director's report: Leslie Jochman reviewed routine operational items in her monthly report, including staffing updates, a pest-control item, the status of experience passes, and recent memorial donations. The board recorded no further updates from the Ad Hoc Repair, Renovation and Expansion Committee.
