The Brimfield Township Board of Trustees on Jan. 8, 2025, approved a series of routine motions and two substantive personnel and contract actions before adjourning at 9:00 AM.
Trustees approved prior meeting minutes and the meeting agenda. Sue Fields moved to approve the Dec. 11, 2024 minutes; the motion passed on a unanimous roll call. The board also approved minutes from the Dec. 16, 2024 public hearings (Kostensky — yea; Fields — abstain; Coia — yea), purchase orders and warrants.
On departmental actions, Trustee Nicholas Coia moved to "approve the 2025 Brimfield Police Department Officer Wellness contract with Dr. Patrick Palmieri, PhD in the amount of $12,000.00," which passed by unanimous roll call. The contract amount recorded in the minutes is $12,000.
Trustees also authorized beginning the hiring process for three additional entry-level firefighters in 2025. Sue Fields moved "to start the process of hiring 3 additional entry level firefighters in 2025," a motion that passed unanimously.
During public comment, Robert Radaslovich raised concerns about jake brakes; Bill Anderson offered positive remarks about local roads. The board recorded a facilities safety note that a fire railing will be installed at the administrative building entrance in February 2025.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 AM following a unanimous roll-call vote; trustees and the fiscal officer signed the minutes to certify the record.
