Rumson-Fair Haven board approves bill lists, contracts and $404,722 in insurance renewals

At its July 21 special meeting the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Board of Education approved finance and contract items by unanimous roll-call vote, including bill lists, insurance renewals, and food- and grounds-service contracts.
Finance agenda items 16–33 were approved on a motion by Mrs. Pattwell, seconded by Mr. Page. The board accepted bill lists and payroll totals presented for late June and July (including combined totals and payroll entries for June 15, June 17, June 30 and July 14). The board also approved the Board Secretary’s and cash-reconciliation reports for May 2022 and certified, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10, that expenditures did not exceed appropriations.
The board approved insurance renewals through the New Jersey Schools Insurance Group program and the Monmouth Ocean County Shared Services Insurance Fund (MOCSIF), as recommended by broker Alliant. Line-item premiums included Package $140,799; Errors & Omissions $44,666; Workers’ Compensation $95,852; Excess Workers’ Compensation $3,865; Cyber Liability (Evolve) $15,375; Student Accident $103,535; and Bonds $630, for a total of $404,722.
Contracts approved included a renewal of the Food Service Management Contract with Simplified Culinary Services, Inc., Point Pleasant, NJ, for 2022–23 with an annual management fee of $19,000 billed at $1,900 per month and a guarantee of not less than $7,000. The board also approved a lawn-maintenance contract with Above the Mark Landscaping for $19,500 and a quarterly turf-maintenance contract with Sport Care Synthetic Field Maintenance for $18,200 (both July 1, 2022–June 30, 2023), with budget-account references provided in the agenda.
Other finance-related approvals included professional-development vendor contracts (Kiker Learning for Google Classroom training, $3,000 funded by Title IV) and Title I A amendments with Huntington Learning Center for summer tutoring ($26,880) and SAT prep ($23,400). Tuition contracts for out-of-district placements were also approved as presented.
All finance and contract items were adopted by unanimous roll-call vote.
