Parks and Recreation Director Alina Hibbs described two fee proposals: a lower-cost option for the existing swim-team program to provide a more affordable participation tier, and a broader set of pricing updates for cemetery lots and mausoleum alcove niches prompted by rising operations and maintenance costs and a shrinking inventory of available plots.
"We have two fee proposals for the parks department this time around," Hibbs said, explaining the intent was to offer a more affordable swim option and to update cemetery pricing for unsold alcove niches. Hibbs noted some cemetery items had been struck through in the packet where inventory was sold out.
Finance/staff member Chris Bassett said the resolution also implements a 3.1% automatic adjustment to the school-impact fee based on the CPI for the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue area; staff implemented the adjustment April 1 to align permit paperwork with the updated fee schedule.
Council moved and seconded adoption of Resolution 1879 after staff presentations. The transcript does not include a roll-call tally for the resolution vote, but the motion to approve was made and seconded during the meeting.
