Montague approves $4,200 ARP-funded server after 4–1 vote

On July 9 Montague’s Committee approved allocating $4,200 of American Rescue Plan funds to purchase a replacement municipal server. Municipal Clerk Dana Klinger told the Committee the existing server is 13 years old and presented a $4,200 quote. Attorney Rossmeissl advised the Committee that the purchase would be allowable under the Treasury Department’s changed formula for ARP allowable uses.
Mr. LeDonne moved to approve the $4,200 expenditure; Mr. Innella seconded. The motion passed with four yes votes (Innella, Krumpfer, LeDonne, Mayor Zitone) and one no (Mr. Merusi).
Why it matters: Updating critical IT infrastructure affects the Township’s ability to maintain records and provide services; using ARP funds for the purchase follows advice about allowable coronavirus-relief uses.
