Board names Valery Petrone interim business administrator, approves football coaching hires and routine operational items

Personnel actions included approval of extracurricular coaching appointments on a motion by Mr. Kenney, seconded by Mr. Page and carried by unanimous roll-call vote: Jeremy Schulte as Head Football Coach (Step 7, $9,006) and Jerry Schulte Sr. as Assistant Football Coach (Step 7, $6,484). The superintendent opened the meeting by lauding the Schultes, who were in attendance.
Operational approvals included field trip permissions (for example, the Film Club trip to Jackson High School on May 20), fundraising initiatives (Key Club shoe collection April 25–May 25), approval of listed home instruction arrangements (hourly rate $30) and multiple out-of-district special-education placements with associated costs for ESY and the 2022–2023 academic year. The board approved Items 11 through 14 (field trips, fundraising, home instruction, out-of-district placements) on a motion by Mrs. Pattwell, seconded by Mr. Kenney, by unanimous roll-call vote.
The meeting adjourned to an executive session at 7:49 p.m. to discuss personnel and attorney-client privileged matters; the session duration was estimated in the minutes at two hours. The board later returned to public session and adjourned the meeting at 9:42 p.m.
