The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Board of Education voted May 23 to appoint Sarah Fitzgerald as Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Student Data, State Reporting and Strategic Planning for the 2022–23 school year, effective July 1, with an annual salary of $150,000.
The appointment appeared on the personnel addendum and was approved as part of a broader motion to accept personnel agenda items and addenda. Mr. Kenney, Board Vice President, made the motion to approve Action Items 1 and 2 and Personnel items 3–14 and Addenda items 31–38; Mr. Page seconded. The board recorded a unanimous roll-call vote of those present to approve the items. Present at roll call were Mrs. Halcrow, Mrs. Pattwell, Mrs. McGinty (board president), Mrs. Thompson, Mr. Kenney, Mr. Page and Mrs. Whitehouse; Mrs. McCabe and Mrs. Hickey were absent.
In addition to Fitzgerald’s appointment, the board approved multiple teaching and support staff hires for 2022–23, listed with salary steps and noting that 2021–22 salary rates apply until contract negotiations are finalized. Notable approvals included the appointment of Anthony Dinallo as Industrial Arts teacher (Step 25, BA+60 Guide), Nichole Kerney as Math teacher (Step 20, BA+30 Guide), Thomas January and James McConville as English teachers, Nicholas DelBuono as Social Studies teacher, and Kelly King as long-term leave replacement school counselor. The personnel slate also included sixth-assignment stipends for several special-education teachers (20% of Level 1 salary) for May 16–June 30, 2022, and the creation of a Phase 4 referendum construction monitor position.
The board recorded that these personnel actions were approved collectively on the motion made by Mr. Kenney and seconded by Mr. Page. The board’s minutes note that required paperwork remains pending for some hires and that salary figures listed reflect 2021–22 rates pending contract settlement.
The board moved these personnel actions before adjourning to an executive session to discuss personnel and attorney-client privileged matters.
