The Pineville City Council voted to rezone two lots at 102 Ray Street (Lots 12 and 13, Square 3, Grama Subdivision) from C1 (Commercial) to C2 (Commercial) to permit relocation of an auto-repair operation.
A zoning commission representative explained the petition by property owner Craig Jenkins and said the commission recommended approval. Council members asked questions about proximity to residences, the owner’s intent to demolish an existing house on the property and past plans (past hearings had referenced a hobby shop). The zoning representative said Jenkins had done cleanup, reported he is 71 and wanted a place for car repairs rather than full-scale operations, and that C2 was consistent with the current shop zoning nearby.
Councilman O'Neil moved, a second was made, and the council approved the rezoning on a roll-call vote with all members present voting yes.
Council discussion noted nearby residential parcels and past uses but did not record conditions attached to the rezoning in the meeting transcript.
