The committee recommended a $72,500 variance addition for the recreation department, $250 for the shop, and a new administration line item of $188,500 to cover a legal settlement the council approved earlier in the meeting. The committee reported the total addition as roughly $261,550.
Council moved and seconded the measure and approved the amendment by voice vote. The council also set a public hearing on March 11, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. to consider adoption and amendment of the FY 2024–25 budget.
A council member thanked department heads and staff for managing budgets closely and asked residents to note the city’s fiscal year begins in July, not January.
The council’s action formally introduces the amendment for publication ahead of the public hearing and records the committee’s recommended adjustments.
