Committee concurs with county on non‑conservation status for small tax‑forfeit parcel

Sandy said the parcel likely would be unbuildable without multiple variances given its shape and a large on‑site depression. City staff found no utility need and noted the adjacent street has adequate right‑of‑way. Because neighborhood reconstruction in that area is not scheduled until around 2030 and no stormwater design has been done for the block, staff recommended concurring with the county’s non‑conservation designation so the parcel can be offered for sale.
Committee members discussed the parcel size (staff estimated roughly 4,300 square feet) and noted an adjacent owner might buy it to add to a lawn. A committee member moved to concur with staff and allow the county to proceed with a land sale; the motion passed unanimously.
