Public Works Director Paul Sandy asked the committee to approve task‑order forms and the scope and fees for geotechnical investigations on two reconstruction projects. The geotechnical work includes soil borings, groundwater elevation determination, pavement section recommendations and geotechnical reports to be included in contract documents.
Braun Intertech supplied fee proposals: $20,432 for the Lynnwood/Edgewood/Brentwood project and $18,750 for the Haines Addition reconstruction. Sandy said the task‑order forms standardize scope and assumptions so multiple proposers will be compared on fee alone.
Committee members offered no objections and the committee approved staff’s recommendation to accept the scope and fees and to finalize task orders in coordination with the city attorney and the firm’s upcoming work in town.
Sandy said approving the fees now allows the city to take advantage of Braun Intertech’s presence in town in July when similar work is being done on other city projects.
