Committee grants two‑week extension for Hawkins Drive alley project

Sandy said the alley contractor experienced delays while waiting for a mandated galvanized water service line replacement to be completed before curb and surfacing could be installed.
Sandy said the contractor reached substantial completion (alley paved) around June 29 and staff determined a 14‑day extension was warranted to allow punch‑list items and final restoration to be finished. He noted Moore Engineering reviewed the change and agreed the extension was reasonable.
A committee member moved to approve staff’s recommendation to extend the completion periods; the motion passed unanimously.
The committee recorded no additional budgetary change because the order did not alter the contract amount.
