At its May 13 meeting, the Plain Dealing Board of Aldermen introduced two ordinances to amend Chapter 14 of the town) of the Code of Ordinances and scheduled public hearings for June 10, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the Town Hall meeting room.
Ordinance No. 7 of 2025 would add Article III: Grass, Weeds, and Wild Growth to Chapter 14 (Environment). Ordinance No. 8 of 2025 would amend Article II: Junked, Wrecked, and Abandoned Property of the same chapter. Both measures were introduced by motion (Ordinance 7 motion by Emily Jennings; Ordinance 8 motion by Jeff Benson with Emily Jennings seconding) and received unanimous support from members present. The minutes do not include the ordinance text; the June 10 public hearings will be the next formal step toward adoption.
