Commissioners ratify OKI signature and emergency declaration, approve covered bridge certification and routine claims

The Dearborn County Board of Commissioners on July 7 ratified intergovernmental actions and completed routine administrative business.
Staff member (S3) said Kevin (the county representative) had signed the OKI agreement via DocuSign and that Mark Pawlowski, OKI executive director, also signed; S3 said the OKI fee rose by about $57 and that the county budget has $17,031 allocated to cover the contract. Commissioner (S1) moved to ratify the signatures; Chair (S2) seconded and the board approved the ratification by voice vote.
Staff member (S3) also reported that signatures previously authorized to confirm an emergency declaration for storms on June 18, 2026, needed formal ratification; Commissioner (S1) moved to ratify the emergency declaration signatures and the board approved by voice vote.
On preservation funding, staff member (S3) said Dearborn County has one covered bridge eligible for state certification; certification requires signing and yields $1,850 per bridge. Commissioner (S1) moved that the board sign the certification and Chair (S2) seconded; the board approved by voice vote.
The board also approved claims, payroll, and two sets of minutes (June 16 regular meeting and June 29 special meeting) and then adjourned by voice vote.
