The Montclair State University Board of Trustees moved and approved a resolution to enter Closed Session prior to the next public session to discuss: 1) pending litigation filed against the university; 2) personnel matters; and 3) other matters consistent with N.J.S.A. 10:4-12.b. The motion, made by Chair Kent Sluyter, cited N.J.S.A. 10:4-13 and N.J.S.A. 10:4-12.b and was seconded and approved unanimously.
Why it matters: The board identified litigation and personnel as matters requiring non-public discussion under New Jersey open-meetings law.
What happens next: The board will reconvene in a future public session after the required closed-session proceedings.
