Board approves new health‑profession certificate and doctoral nursing program; Lacrosse reinstated to NCAA status

During the April 11 and subsequent public sessions the Montclair State Board of Trustees approved several academic program actions and new credentials. The Board unanimously approved development of a Graduate Certificate in Spanish Health Professions (effective Fall 2025) and authorized development of a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (effective Fall 2025). Other program approvals recorded across the meetings include undergraduate and graduate certificates and program closures when presented.
Students from the Women’s and Men’s Lacrosse teams addressed the Board at the December 19, 2024 and April 11, 2025 meetings to describe the impact of the university’s earlier decision to transition lacrosse to club status. At the April 11 meeting students thanked trustees and administrators after the Board reinstated Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse to NCAA status. The minutes record these program approvals, certificate developments, and the student remarks in the public‑comment and Student Success committee sections.
