Mayor Vaccaro and Attorney F. Migliorino introduced a request from the Court Administrator to implement a language-line service for the municipal court to provide interpreters by phone.
The Borough Clerk explained the billing structure: "the language line is a flat price per minute used, and currently if a defendant that requested an interpreter does not appear for court, there is a minimum hour fee to be paid to the interpreter." Administrator T. Ciannamea described current interpreter costs and the council discussed cost implications and service options.
Council confirmed the item would be added to the Regular Meeting agenda for formal approval; no binding decision was made at the executive meeting.
