Board moves March budget presentation to March 11 and adjusts June date on 2024–25 calendar
Summary
To align with a changed primary-election date, Mountainside trustees moved the March budget presentation and adjusted a June date on the 2024–25 school calendar; the superintendent said the changes avoid conflicts with testing and give parents time to plan.

The board approved a change to the 2024–25 school calendar and adjusted the date of the district’s budget presentation so it aligns with the primary‑election schedule.
The superintendent explained the change was driven by the state primary date and the need to give parents timely notice: “Because we knew of the change in the primary election, we wanted to get that information out to parents as soon as possible so they can make adjustments to work schedules,” the superintendent said. As a result the March board meeting and budget presentation will be moved; the meeting will be held March 11 instead of March 18. The June date on the calendar changed from June 3 to June 10.
Board members confirmed the calendar adjustment does not conflict with New Jersey state testing windows or routine 8th‑grade activities, and noted the administration will post the revised calendar and bring the 2025–26 calendar forward on the Jan. 21 agenda.
What happens next: the administration will publish the revised calendar for parents and staff and include the 2025–26 draft calendar for board review in January.
