Bunker Hill Village council accepts Pratt resignation, appoints Hunter Cameron to fill seat

Mayor Keith Brown called the Bunker Hill Village City Council meeting to order on May 19, 2026, and the council moved to accept a written resignation from Councilmember Josh Pratt, effective May 19, 2026. Pratt said the resignation was prompted by his family’s relocation out of state. Councilmember Andrew Poor moved to accept the resignation, and Councilmember Eric Thode seconded; the motion carried 5-0.
Mayor Brown recommended appointing Hunter Cameron to fill the vacant Position No. 4 for the remainder of the unexpired term through May 2027. Councilmember Carl Moerer moved to appoint Cameron and Councilmember Susan Schwartz seconded; the motion carried 4-0. City Attorney Loren Smith administered the Statement of Appointed Officer and the Oath of Office to Cameron and to the uncontested winners for Council Positions 1–3, which the council had declared elected after canceling the May 2, 2026 election when only one applicant filed for each seat.
Pratt received a gift from Mayor Brown and thanked the council and staff for their support before leaving the meeting. The council did not take further action on liaison appointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission during this meeting.
The appointment is effective immediately; the council will hold the seat through the term ending in May 2027.
