Board enters executive session on personnel, reconvenes and approves administration’s employment slate

The Kershaw County School Board went into executive session on July 7 to discuss personnel matters including resignations, retirements, employment, assignments and transfers of certified and classified staff.
The chair called for a motion to enter executive session; the board voted in favor on a motion by Mister Rob Robert, seconded by Mister Cameron. The board later reconvened to open session on a motion by Miss Harris, seconded by Miss Furness.
After returning to open session the board moved to set and accept the administration’s recommendations concerning employment and the presented slate of personnel actions. The motion, made by Mister Cameron and seconded by Miss Furness, was decided by a raised-hand vote; the chair noted the motion carried and that one member was recorded as sustaining the vote in the record.
No individual personnel actions or names were read into the open record during the public portion of the meeting; trustees took formal action to accept the administration’s recommendations as presented.
