Board approves intermediate animation elective to preserve student credits after state change

The Kershaw County School Board approved an intermediate animation elective on July 7 to ensure students are not disadvantaged by a state change to course credit assignments.
Mr. Matthew told the board that the state had altered credit assignments for certain WTC classes, reducing some from two credits to one, and that adding an intermediate animation course would prevent students scheduled for the class in the fall from losing credit. "So I'm asking for your approval," Matthew said.
The board voted to approve the course on a motion by Miss Furness, seconded by Coach Blackman; the chair called for ayes and the motion carried by voice vote. The approved change is meant to protect students already enrolled or planning to enroll in affected electives.
