New Hanover Shade Tree Commission elects officers, sets 2026 meeting schedule

The New Hanover Township Shade Tree Commission reorganized its leadership and set a regular meeting schedule during its Jan. 27, 2026 meeting.
Commissioners approved Aaron Smith as chairman, Kellie Bowden as assistant chairman, Tracy Taylor as secretary and Ethan Taylor as treasurer. The reorganization of officers was recorded by the commission during the new-business portion of the meeting.
The commission also voted, 5-0, to hold all regular Shade Tree meetings on the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the New Hanover Senior Center. Members published specific dates for the 2026 calendar, including Feb. 24, March 31 and April 28, with meetings continuing through December.
Aaron Smith clarified that the township administrator should be copied when Secretary Tracy Taylor distributes the Shade Tree meeting minutes.
The commission approved the prior month (November) meeting minutes and adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
