Norwalk Chamber honored as California Chamber's Chamber of the Year; chamber previews business events and advocacy

Karen Spilsbury, representing the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, told the council the chamber had been recognized by the California Chamber of Commerce and outlined recent and upcoming chamber activities.
"Our Norwalk Chamber, our focus continues to be on creating our connections through networking, advocacy, outreach, and partnerships," Spilsbury said. She recapped mixers, a FIFA watch party and ribbon cuttings and promoted upcoming events including a business expo and a "State of the Nation" luncheon featuring Congresswoman Linda SE1nchez.
Spilsbury also summarized the chamber's legislative priorities and opposition to several state bills, as described during the presentation, and said the chamber is active in small-business advocacy and membership outreach. The council joined chamber representatives on the dais for a group photo and offered congratulations on the statewide award.
No formal council action was taken on the chamber's work; the presentation was provided as an informational update and to recognize the chamber's award.
