Commissioners send unresolved Dudley zoning question to Planning Commission
Summary

Town staff told the commissioners that County zoning for the Dudley property has not been in effect since Aug. 22, 2023, leaving the parcel without a finalized town zoning designation.
Town Planner Peter Johnston recommended zoning the parcel R‑1 or creating a new agricultural zone. Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan noted that the original annexation required PN zoning and suggested the town could temporarily designate the property 'Town Countryside' with a notation that it would be rezoned to PN once annexation requirements are satisfied. Commissioners asked Ms. Ryan to discuss options with the property owners and forward a formal recommendation to the Planning Commission.
If Planning forwards a recommendation, the commissioners would need to hold a public hearing and adopt map and possibly text amendments to the zoning ordinance. The minutes do not record any vote or formal change at the meeting; the item remains pending Planning Commission review and a future public hearing.
