Ridgely commissioners pick capital-reserve option for water, sewer rates; resolution introduced

At the June 1 meeting the Commissioners of Ridgely reviewed a slide presentation from Commissioner Brad Sears outlining proposed water and sewer rate changes and the rationale for adjusting rates. The presentation reviewed how town finances operate, what rates pay for, three proposed rate schedules and an interactive application that the town hopes to post on its website.
Commissioner Brad Sears presented the materials and said, "We hope to have the interactive application available on the town website." The Commissioners unanimously voted to adopt the capital-reserve option recommended in the water/sewer rate study.
Following that vote, the board introduced Resolution No. 2026-02, which would establish the new water and sewer rates. The resolution was set for a public hearing at the July 6, 2026 town meeting. The meeting minutes do not record a final adopted rate schedule in ordinance form; the resolution introduction and hearing schedule were recorded.
