President Brad Sears called for volunteer applications for the newly reestablished Economic Development Commission and said an independent selection committee will conduct interviews of applicants.
During public comment, Brenda Walls offered to lead an effort to add Hometown Hero flags to the towns telephone poles; she said the display would include both military personnel and emergency services. The Historical Societys Cathy Schwab thanked the community and local businesses for support of the holiday decorating contest and said the Winter Festival brought in a new member.
The commission provided no vote or formal direction on the Hometown Hero flag proposal at the Jan. 5 meeting; interested volunteers and stakeholders should expect staff follow-up.
