Town reviews I&I contract hold, valve/ membrane work complete; water tower financing discussion tabled

Town staff reported several utility and infrastructure updates at the Oct. 9 meeting. Contractor Retallack confirmed he will hold his original bid for the inflow and infiltration (I&I) project; Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan said the agreement should be ready for signature by the next meeting, after which contractor Rauch will schedule a pre-construction meeting to confirm schedule, homeowner notifications, and potential service or road access disruptions.
Public Works reported immediate plant maintenance: Havtech must remove and replace two TXV valves and two liquid-line filter driers on the AAON blower (cooling/heating unit) at the plant at an estimated cost of $5,433. Staff also reported a plant operator was able to recover an EQ pump that had been unreachable due to corroded cables; cables will be upgraded to stainless steel. Apex completed a drainage-box replacement at Pilkerton's and ditch work at Bowlingly was in progress and expected to finish by Friday.
The membrane clean and valve automation project was reported as completed. Commissioners reviewed updated interim financing rate quotes from Queenstown Bank and Shore United Bank for a new water tower but agreed to table any financing decisions at this time.
