Lee proposes $1 billion for TDOT, $100 million for regional water strategy in 2025 budget

Governor Bill Lee told the joint convention he will propose $1,000,000,000 for the Tennessee Department of Transportation to build and maintain roads and bridges statewide and described the Transportation Modernization Act as the foundation for continued infrastructure innovation. "This year, we will propose in our budget $1,000,000,000 to TDOT to build and maintain roads and bridges all across Tennessee," he said.
On water resources, Lee proposed a $100,000,000 investment to create a regional water supply strategy to protect the Duck River, which the governor said is the sole water source for more than 250,000 Tennesseans in a fast-growing region. He framed the spending as a long-term solution to balance growth with conservation.
