'Bowls for the Hungry' benefit auction set for July 18 at Jackson Fairgrounds

Organizers of Bowls for the Hungry said the annual benefit will be held July 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Jackson Fairgrounds to raise funds for local food and housing charities.
Alyssa Miller and Brianna Hardeman described the event format: local artists and pottery students donated more than 100 bowls to be auctioned in support of nonprofit partners. “We have over a 100 bowls in this year's auction,” one organizer said, and auction items are already live at jacksontn.betterworld.org.
Organizers said ticket prices are $25 for individuals and $120 for a table (six). The event will include live music by the Will Byer Band, food provided by Old Town Spaghetti and short talks by participating nonprofit groups to explain their community impact.
City parks staff noted the Parks and Recreation Department supports the Bemis ceramics program that supplies many of the bowls. Organizers encouraged community members to view the online auction and attend the event to support local hunger and housing services.
