Robin Applegren described 'That’s Amore' as an annual fundraiser to support the Dream Center’s shelter and transitional programs for women and women with children experiencing homelessness.
The event is scheduled for July 16 at 6 p.m. at the Call Grama Event Center. Applegren said the evening will include an Italian dinner, testimony from women who have been through the program, performances by the Dream Center children and a concert by gospel vocalist Adam Crabb.
“We do still have a few tables left,” Applegren said, noting tables of eight are $500; she provided a contact phone number (731‑512‑0095) and the website dreamcenterjackson.com for ticket and table purchases.
Applegren described the Dream Center’s work as individualized case management that helps residents secure housing, employment and basic necessities; length of stay varies by individual needs, with some residents remaining six months and others up to a year. She said the center recently moved into a new facility made available by a local church and hopes to add a half‑court gym in the coming month.
Organizers framed the fundraiser as a core revenue and community‑awareness event supporting shelter services and transition to independence for residents.
