Middletown Township Committee adopts two ordinances and a consent agenda

Middletown Township Committee on Nov. 10 adopted two ordinances and approved a consent agenda during a meeting at the Middletown Township Municipal Building.
The committee opened a public hearing on Ordinance 2025-2486, described by the chair as "an ordinance amending chapter 240 of the code of the Township Of Middletown governing fees scheduled for passport in registrar's office." The hearing was opened by motion, no members of the public spoke, and the committee moved to close the hearing and adopt the ordinance on second and final reading. The chair stated, "Motion carries to pass this ordinance on 2nd and final reading." (Chair, speaker 3).
The committee then opened a public hearing on Ordinance 2025-3487, an ordinance to establish amusement gaming licensing fees under chapter 240 of the township code. As with the passport-fee ordinance, no public comments were offered; the committee closed the hearing and the chair announced the ordinance passed on second and final reading.
Earlier in the evening the committee approved minutes from its Oct. 20, 2025 meeting after a motion and roll-call responses. The body also adopted a consent agenda that included resolutions numbered 25-317 through 25-347; a motion to approve the consent agenda was seconded and the chair announced the motion carried.
The meeting opened with the chair confirming that "the notice requirements provided for the open public meetings act have been satisfied," and included a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for troops serving worldwide. Committee members offered brief closing remarks — including a Veterans Day acknowledgement and a personal birthday comment — before the committee opened and then closed the public comment period after no members of the public spoke.
No formal amendments to the ordinances or substantive public testimony were recorded during the meeting. The committee completed routine business and adjourned for the evening.
