Ava aldermen unanimously approve ordinances, resolutions and mayoral appointments

The City of Ava Board of Aldermen on April 14 conducted first and second readings of two ordinances, approved two resolutions and confirmed several mayoral appointments, each by unanimous 4-0 votes.
During the meeting the council took first and second readings of Ordinance #1164 and Ordinance #1165. Motions to proceed with the readings and to approve each ordinance were made and carried 4-0. The minutes do not specify the ordinances’ subject matter beyond the readings and approvals.
The board also approved Resolution 2026/04.04, authorizing a professional engineering agreement for the city, and Resolution 2026/04.05, authorizing the mayor to sign an agreement between the City of Ava and M&W Construction and Utility LLC. Both resolutions were moved, seconded and approved 4-0.
Mayor Kirk Pueppke’s appointments were confirmed by motion: Suzanne Welsh was appointed City Clerk; Noel Dye was appointed President of the Board of Aldermen; and the mayor’s appointments of City Attorney Larry Tyrrell, Police Chief David Overcast, Treasurer Peggy Porter and Fire Chief Dan Baldwin were approved by a 4-0 vote.
