High school touchdown club donates proceeds to World Trade Center Memorial Gardens

Members of the Middletown High School North touchdown club attended the Feb. 2 township meeting to present a $500 donation to the World Trade Center Memorial Gardens. Jamie, speaking for the club, said the money came from sales of 9/11‑themed T‑shirts and was designated to help with year‑to‑year maintenance needs that are less visible than large renovation projects.
The chair thanked the students and the wider network of local donors and volunteers, and noted the township is undertaking a larger renovation of the memorial gardens ahead of the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Committee members praised the donation as an example of students giving back to the community.
