Middletown honors Mule Barn fundraiser and two firefighters for 50 years of service

The Middletown Township Committee used Dec. 1 to recognize local contributions to veterans and long-standing volunteer service.
Mayor Perry thanked the Mule Barn restaurant and its patrons after organizers donated 100% of proceeds from a grand opening night to Veterans Village. The mayor said the effort raised $11,000 and noted the restaurant also donated stools and community items for shared spaces. "When you have organizations that are willing to say, I'm willing to forego my profit to help a fellow resident, to help somebody in need, to help people that have served our nation, All Middletown can do is say thank you for your generosity," Mayor Perry said.
The committee also presented keys to Chief Midos (recognized for 50 years of service) and Michael Reardon (50 years), praising their decades of volunteerism and leadership within the Middletown Township Fire Department. The mayor and other committee members highlighted Chief Midos's roles over the years, including serving as chief, director of emergency management and instructor at the township fire academy.
The recognitions were ceremonial; no committee action was taken beyond the presentations and expressions of gratitude.
The committee also noted a successful tree-lighting event and several upcoming community activities.
