River Ridge board accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman and outlines appointment process

The River Ridge Community Development District board accepted the resignation of James Gilman from Seat 1 (term through November 2026) at its Aug. 27, 2024 meeting.
Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and explained this will be an appointment to fill the unexpired term rather than an election. The board agreed that staff would notify residents — via an e-blast coordinated with Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager — about the vacancy, candidate qualifications and instructions to submit a resume or a letter of interest before the next meeting. The board deferred administration of the Oath of Office and accompanying ethics- and disclosure-related materials to a subsequent package.
On a motion by Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Robert Twombly, the board accepted the resignation. The board also discussed constituent outreach and the required ethics training and Form disclosures that the eventual appointee must complete before taking office.
