CDD approves lower-cost 'zombie box' instead of relocating lake aerator in 3-2 vote

Board members discussed budget implications and an alternative of installing a 'zombie box' at the present location and deferring any full relocation until the Fiscal Year 2026 budget can be revisited. On motion by Chair Bob Schultz, seconded by Mr. Twombly, the board approved installing the zombie box at a cost of $3,098. Mr. Schultz, Mr. Twombly and Mr. Merrill voted in favor; Mr. Mountford and Mr. Blumenthal dissented (motion passed 3-2).
The minutes show the higher relocation estimate discussed was $10,755; the board elected the lower-cost interim solution. Staff noted the $3,098 installation will proceed and that the relocation question may reappear in future budget discussions.
