Middletown Committee adopts three ordinances, approves liquor-license transfer

The Middletown Township Committee on Dec. 15 adopted three ordinances on second and final reading, approved a consent agenda and authorized a place-to-place transfer of a plenary retail distribution (liquor) license.
The ordinances adopted after the committee closed the public hearings (no public speakers) included an ordinance authorizing acceptance of a conservation easement covering a portion of Block 1063, Lot 6.01 on West Front Street; an ordinance accepting dedication of right-of-way over a portion of Block 865, Lot 136 at 456 Highway 35; and an amendment to Chapter 240 of the township code updating certain health-related fees. Each ordinance passed by voice roll-call with all five members present voting yes.
The committee also moved and carried a consent agenda that included Resolutions 25-358 through 25-373, and acting as the ABC issuing authority approved Resolution 25-374 to permit a place-to-place transfer of a liquor license listed on the agenda. Committeeman Clark, Committeewoman Kratz, Committeeman Sedembrino, Deputy Mayor Rick Hybel and Mayor Perry recorded affirmative votes on the listed items.
There was no public testimony on the ordinances when the hearings were opened and closed; the committee proceeded directly from closing the public portion to approval. The calendar item numbers and block/lot references were read aloud from the agenda during the meeting.
Next steps: ordinances passed on second and final reading are now adopted as enacted by the township; any administrative filings or recording with the county clerk will follow as required under township procedures. The liquor-license transfer will proceed under ABC procedures and any required agency filings or waiting periods will apply.
