Mayor clarifies HATS fund use and one-can trash policy after resident inquiry

On the trash-can question, Holmes said replacement bins will be provided based on condition and that the town's garbage contract specifies one trash can per customer; a second can is available at an additional cost to the customer.
Bethay also complimented Councilman Miller for following up on a question from the July meeting about waste spillage on Calhoun Street. The minutes record no further public-comment speakers raising the trash-can issue.
The exchange concluded without any formal motion or change to the garbage contract recorded in the minutes. Town leaders noted the contract transition to a new contractor is in progress and experiencing minor hiccups but did not record further operational changes at the meeting.
