The board approved a set of actions on the joint drainage district's open-ditch repair project performed by Bridal Excavating. The drainage presenter explained that significant bank erosion and an undersized surface drain required upsizing the drain and constructing a rock chute at a site near Whittemore; those additions produced a contract change order totaling $15,587.17.
"The overall change order is an increase in the contract amount of $15,587.17," the presenter said when describing the work and the reasoning behind the added scope.
Supervisors approved change order No. 5 by voice vote. The board also approved pay estimate No. 4 for $116,014.31; the pay estimate covers completed work except the final 10 percent retainage, which will not be eligible for payment until 30 days after the completion hearing. The board set a certification-of-completion hearing for Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. to consider final acceptance and release of retainage.
