Mayor Pro-Tem Eric Seyer called Jake Williams to speak after the Park Board denounced his presidency on Jan. 14. Darin McFerron presented the Park Board's reasoning for the denouncement and Williams rebutted the board's case, arguing he should be allowed to remain as a Park Board member.
Earlier in the meeting, the council appointed Farrell Wasson to the Park Board on a motion by Tony Enderle that was seconded and approved. Later, Council Member Danny Finley moved to remove Jake Williams from the Park Board; the motion received no second and was not acted upon.
The minutes record discussion but do not include verbatim allegations or the Park Board's specific charges. Because the removal motion was not seconded, no formal vote on removal occurred and Williams remains on the Park Board pending any future formal action.
