The Chaffee City Council on Nov. 17 adopted a Resolution of Appreciation and Remembrance honoring the life and service of Mayor Stephen Wayne Loucks. City Administrator Lee Horton presented the resolution, which passed after two readings by title and a unanimous vote.
Following the resolution, the council voted to grant Mayor Pro-Tem Eric Seyer check-signing privileges until the April 2026 election to maintain administrative continuity after the mayor's passing. The motion to grant signing authority was made by Council Member Andy Sadler and seconded by Mark Perkins; council members present approved the motion unanimously.
The council carried routine meeting formalities earlier in the session'including approval of the previous meeting's minutes and routine bills. Lee Horton said staff will circulate the final, council-approved resolution for the official record.
