At its July 6 meeting, the council received operational updates from city staff on several city projects and a public-health advisory.
Staff reported they are awaiting one final turf quote before making a decision about a planned dog park and that five bids for the Public Works parking lot had been received; staff and a colleague will compare bids and return a recommendation to council at a special meeting. The Public Works building relocation and related parking-lot work remain under review.
A council member advised residents about West Nile virus prevention, urging removal of standing water, removal of old tires and proper disposal of dumped mattresses and trash; residents were directed to the city website and civic reporting tools for code-enforcement complaints and for photos to support staff follow-up. No official votes were taken on these operational items at the meeting.
