Encore Dance Academy offers recreational and competitive dance classes for children and adults and is promoting a May 30 recital and an eight-week summer session starting June 8, owner Hilary Peterson said on Cape Chronicle.
Peterson described Encore as welcoming students ages 2 through 18 as well as adults, with styles that include ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and acro. "We really try to reach a wide variety of the community so that everyone can enjoy dance," she said, adding that the studio has class progressions by age (mini, primary, junior, teen/senior) and multiple levels in primary ballet and jazz.
Peterson emphasized community and accessibility: parents may observe classes from a lobby with large windows, the studio offers free trial classes and the owner said the studio works to be inclusive for adults who want to start later in life. She told listeners the studio provides a free trial and recommended interested families visit encoremodance.com or call to set up a trial.
Peterson also noted the studio is planning its third annual recital on May 30 and summer classes from June 8 through July 30. The transcript contains an inconsistency in the studio's history (Peterson refers both to being "in our 3rd season" and to opening "in September 2003"); that discrepancy was not resolved on-air.
For more information or to arrange a trial, Peterson said prospective students should visit the studio website or contact Encore directly.
