Senior counsel Darren told the Ojai City Planning Commission on July 1 that the meeting was his last; he said he is relocating to the Seattle area but will remain on the broader city team in a different capacity.
Darren said he has “really, appreciated and valued the opportunity and time I've had to work with this body and with staff.” He informed the commission that his replacement, John Cardenas, would introduce himself.
John Cardenas said he is currently "of counsel at Allyshire Winder" and that he is looking forward to moving into the assistant city attorney role. Cardenas summarized his background, including 23 years as a federal government lawyer in the foreign service and experience working on infrastructure development at subnational levels.
Chair Murphy and the commission welcomed Cardenas and thanked Darren for his service. Staff said Cardenas will attend the next meeting in his new role.
