Michelle, a department staff member presenting the item, said STLTV — the city's audiovisual contractor since 2019 — contacted staff after a Saint Louis City compensation study and internal pay increases prompted the vendor to revisit its pricing. "At present, we pay $250 per meeting, and they will be increasing that price to $300 a meeting," Michelle said, noting this is the first price increase since the contract began in 2019 and that fiscal-year 2025 spending on STLTV services totaled $17,125.
The chair said staff expect the small increase can be absorbed by the city's miscellaneous contractual expenses fund and recommended continuation of the vendor relationship. A committee member asked whether technical issues at meetings were tied to STLTV or the shared IT arrangement with Clayton; Michelle and others said most tech problems are managed by the shared IT service rather than STLTV.
The chair moved to recommend the increase and was seconded. The committee then conducted a roll-call vote at the request of staff; five members voted in the affirmative and the motion passed. The committee noted the item is listed to advance to Ways and Means for information, and staff did not recommend a budget amendment because the expected cost is minimal.
Next steps: staff will advance the committee recommendation in the committee’s normal routing (Ways and Means noted for information) and the new STLTV per-meeting rate would take effect July 1, 2026, if approved in the usual administrative process.
