Edmore swears in trustee, approves staff 2.5% COLA and routine local licenses

Before the Jan. 13 meeting, Clerk Kerri Peterson administered the Oath of Office to newly appointed Trustee Carla McParland.
During the regular session, trustees approved a 2.5% cost-of-living adjustment for village staff. Trustee Carla McParland moved to accept the Personnel Committee recommendation for a 2.5% COLA; Trustee Moore seconded and a roll-call vote recorded yes votes from Griswold, Kanine, McParland, Moore, Pierce and Colburn (6 yes, 1 absent), carrying the motion.
The council also handled routine business: Kanine moved and Griswold supported approval of the PurOils license renewal; the motion passed on roll call with the same six yes votes. Griswold moved to continue the Hometown Hero banner program for two additional years provided banners remain in good condition; McParland seconded and a voice vote carried the motion. Trustees approved payment of the bills following a motion by Kanine supported by McParland; the treasurer reported December 2024 books were closed and balanced.
Griswold moved and Moore supported acceptance of the Dec. 9, 2024 minutes; a voice vote carried them as printed. The council set the FY 2025/2026 budget workshop for Feb. 3, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
The approvals were routine actions recorded in the minutes and did not include additional conditions or budget offsets in the meeting record.
