Deputy Coon reported to the Edmore Village Council on Nov. 11 that deputies logged 119 total patrol hours, 39 investigations and two arrests in the reporting period. He said the record shows 0 traffic stops in the period but attributed that to a suspected technical error in a new system.
Deputy Coon described an Oct. 31 stop that led to the arrest of a 51-year-old Edmore man on a Violation of the Controlled Substance Act; deputies located suspected narcotics on the person after initial identity deception, and the individual remains in county jail pending further action by prosecutors.
Village Manager Mark Borden relayed code-enforcement follow-ups from Deputy Coon: property at 219 N. Third St. was contacted and the owner agreed to remove a vehicle within 30 days; surveillance at 611 S. First St. suggested mostly transient activity; 620 S. First St. was found to have properly registered vehicles after follow-up; 526 E. Gilson St. is at a 30-day follow-up and may face a citation. Borden also reported a damaged vehicle dropped in the Bag Factory lot was removed Nov. 5 by Jerry’s Towing and the owner will be responsible for towing fees.
Council members did not take formal enforcement votes at the Nov. 11 meeting; the manager said staff would follow up on compliance timelines and potential citations.
